How do you bring two brands and their fans together, plus increase membership of the world’s largest hotel loyalty programme all within a motorsport’s season? IHG wanted to increase membership of it’s IHG Rewards Club programme and raise awareness of their involvement with global motorsport, via it’s partnerships with IMSA WeatherTech Sportswear Championship and the British Touring Car Championship. With two fan bases, multiple decision-makers, legal essentials around sweepstakes and age restrictions plus a launch timeframe rushing towards us; we had our work cut-out.
Idea
An online result predictor for both IHG Rewards Club members and non-members, to beat a pundit’s predictions on all individual races in the BTCC or IMSA 2017 series. And to incentivise take-up, winners would be chosen from a prize draw and receive prizes of IHG Rewards Club points. All they would need to do was enter their predictions and register with IHG’s Rewards Club.
Impact
A mobile first web application for both BTCC and IMSA, addressing the fan bases of both of IHG’s global partners in motorsport, resulting in increased signups to IHG Rewards Club
