With the shift towards net zero, printed publications are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. This meant the Quick Reference Guide, a small pocket sized pamphlet full of key product information available to BMW retailers, was rightly shelved but left a gap in accessible product information.


Working directly with the retailer network we undertook a series of workshops to understand what information was key to them, how they needed to consume it, and how quickly they needed to find it. Focus groups followed, looking at needs analysis and wireframe reviews to establish how to create a digital tool delivering key information in the fewest clicks possible. We then worked with BMW to position the information and understand which APIs were available to automate the data and ensure accuracy.

By digitising the Quick Reference Guide experience, the key principles behind it remain relevant. Over 90% users get the information they need from a model page in under a minute – and then return to LaunchPad to digest product information.
